32 year old waitress at a local pub was drinking on her night off and decided she'd had too much to drive home. As cab-rides are an inevitable death sentence in Oaxaca, she opted to walk the four blocks back to her flat in the dead of night. Unfortunately, the tenebrous streets, Mexican concrete, inebriation, and a lack of sensible footwear mixed together to brew up a heady cocktail of death. She lost her footing about a block away from the tavern and took a face-first header into the pavement, cracking her skull and doing all manner of damage to the frontal lobe. She was discovered lying face-down about an hour later, still breathing but unconscious and unresponsive. She was pronounced dead after a short ride to the hospital. A rather ignoble way to die, to say the least.
