Concentration camps (Konzentrationslager; abbreviated as KL or KZ) were an integral feature of the regime in Germany between 1933 and 1945.

The term concentration camp refers to a camp in which people are detained or confined, usually under harsh conditions and without regard to legal norms of arrest and imprisonment that are acceptable in a constitutional democracy.

    But you knew that anyway...

What amazes me is that people are denying this happened. We will never know the real number of prisoners killed, but it was in the hundreds of thousands at minimum. They suffered so much for no reason. Horrible way to go.

I think it was last year that German officials made a statement urging US citizens to stop flooding social media with holocaust denials. It's like climate change: The situation would almost be funny if not for the hordes of airheads genuinely convinced that they're being hoaxed.

We have enormous amounts of evidence that people were murdered in these camps, of course nazis destroyed evidence but we still have pictures. I find it incredibly horrid that people will deny it happened. We have survivors who have to deal with that. I wish we could send all the hoax people to Auschwitz for a lesson.

Jews, gypsies, communists, etc. weren't really called 'humans' in the Third Reich. Something under that. That was psychologically very helpful for the ordinary camp-guard, SS-man or soldier to participate.

And let's not forget Unit 731, nor the fact that our government granted immunity to the Japanese in exchange for their precious information. Surely there's a silver lining, right? I mean, at least we learned how to properly treat hypothermia... It must have been worth it. Yeah.
